In Viraggas, in front of the common goal of providing the best possible customer service, we are all equal, with respect and responsibility. The truth is, that respect is and must be a
two-way relationship. So it is very important in our work not only to show respect but also to receive. Security is also a priority for all of us.

We strive to protect the environment through better understanding, measuring and reducing our environmental footprint while balancing the development of our operation. We strongly oppose the expansion of spaces and the further occupation of free space with additional buildings. Economically, this attitude is very bold and difficult, but we continue to resist.

We recognize the environment, the social and economic needs of the communities in which we work and strive to be a good neighbor.

Our Sustainability Strategy is about:
- Recycling paper, glass, plastic, batteries, fluorescent and long life lamps, ink cartridges and toners.
- Composting of all organic waste from the kitchen and the garden, with four different composters. We use the compost in our gardens. We also compost residues from the chicken’s coop cleaning service.
- Reducing the use of harmful chemicals and replace them with environmentally friendly products where possible. Most of the colors and varnishes used in Viraggas since the construction, were and are “blue angel” certified, water soluble, odourless and without chemical solvents but water.
- Encouraging our visitors to explore the local sights on foot, providing information on walks and trips.
- Use of low energy lamps in public and non-public places (we used to have fluorescent lamps since the oppening and we almost changed all of them with LED), use of automatic lighting systems and installation and control of many lighting circuits with SmartHome system.
- We also use a central solar water heater, but not extensively, because of our desire not to alter the aesthetics of buildings.
- Monitoring the consumption of oil, electricity and water.
- Use of organic products, seasonal vegetables and local products, whenever possible and available.
- Use local suppliers where possible and employ local staff
- Providing a safe and healthy work environment that supports individual development, teamwork, a positive work-life balance, and job satisfaction.
–Environmental policy for our visitors
We strive to show our guests our disposition and actions towards the environment and whether by special signs in the sanitary areas for the use of water, or by direct communication, we urge them while leaving their room, to take along, the special magnets which activate the electrical system in their room..
In Viraggas Hotel, we are dedicated to balancing our commitment to our Environmental Policy without compromising on the comfort, standards and enjoyment of our guests.
